UNICEF in partnership with WHO and others, have developed an innovative pack of medicines to prevent Mother-to-child HIV transmission (PMTCT). The Mother-Baby pack contains antiretroviral drugs and a prophylactic antibiotic, cotrimoxazole, neede to prevent transmission of HIV. Health workers in antenatal clinics and delivery care settings, including non-medical workers, will distribute the packs to pregnant women living with HIV.
